Rain, Rain, go away.....

Ok...enough already with the rain.....

All summer we have worked on remodeling, painting and fixing up our house. We never saw a drop of rain until he brought the shingles for the new roof. He came on Sunday and it's been raining ever since. Go figure!

Well, it may have actually been a good thing because it has inspired me to catch up on some work inside the house. I made a new sign to put up around town, advertising the art classes and it really looks good.

I also stumbled across the other loon photo that you just have to see. It was a once in a lifetime shot. I have my "little ones" an extra day this week. Think we will visit my neighbors llamas, go to the playground and/swimming, weather permitting. I'm also contemplating the Acquarium in Boston.........all nice choices.

Due to the threat of rain, we put a lot of boxes on the tables in the studio. Now they have to be moved and the studio needs to be readied for the art classes in a couple of weeks. I am really looking forward to starting the new session of classes. I will be seeing some "old" faces and hopefully a few new ones.

I signed up for a few classes myself at the Essex Art Center. One is a workshop on collography and the other is a series of oil painting classes. Haven't done oil in a long time, so it will be great to get back into it again.

I am also leaning toward doing a weekend of plein air painting in the White Mountains in October. Just have to be sure there are no other conflicts on those dates.

Oh yes....one more thing.......I am going to try to update my website today with a little help from web host tech support. If that doesn't work, I may start again from scratch. I couldn't believe how long it has been since it was updated by my web guru. Unfortunately, I never got the new work to her so it has become hopelessly outdated.

Let's hope my little ones give me the time to do all this today......We shall see.

It's a beautiful morning!

Have a few chores today and a Library meeting tonight but I wanted to post another piece before I get too busy today. It reminds me that we need to keep a balance in our lives, which I struggle with constantly.

I am pretty much an "all or nothing" type of person.....getting focused one one thing at a time to the exclusion of everything else. That's why I won't pick up a good book when I know I have a lot of things to do. If I get my nose into a book, I can't put it down and everything else gets pushed aside.

I do the same thing with painting and that's why I focus on my art when I am on vacation......no other distractions. I can paint to my hearts content. Just looking at this peaceful loon, whose photo I took a while ago, makes me want to go up to Maine, watch the loons and start painting again.

Let's paint!

I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We have been spending most of the summer remodeling, painting and fixing up the house. It's almost done and I'm starting to hang all the pictures on the walls. It is time to start painting again.

Fall classes are coming up and I am getting excited. I thought posting a picture every day might get people inspired too. So here's today's image.

I painted this while in Florida last winter. It reminds me of all the beautiful foliage I enjoy while there and the beautiful sunshine. I am thinking about doing a new painting of sunflowers.....bright yellows and oranges, strong values and a reminder of Fall.

Watch for the new picture on future blogs.

Happy painting my friends!
